Dennis Ortiz-Luis
Financial Advisor, Specializing in Investment Management

Dennis has been a Financial Advisor with Crux Wealth Advisors since 2017. From the start of his financial career in 1993, he has developed a broad and thorough understanding of the ever-changing and multifaceted industry.

Dennis’ clients rely on his guidance and expertise to break down the complexities of the industry into understandable and relatable terms. He is energized by the financial planning and goal setting process because of the lasting effect they have on his client's futures. Our clients know Dennis for his compassion and the individualized attention that he gives with each interaction.

Dennis was inspired to pursue a career in finance because he saw how his parents struggled in this area. He recognized that he could apply his natural talent and interest with numbers and combine that with his desire to help others. His ultimate goal for his clients is to help them get where they want to be financially. Before this can happen, Dennis understands that he must first earn the trust of his clients before he can offer his financial and investment advisement.

After graduating with a B.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Dennis began his career in financial services in New York City at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers. His primary focus was servicing ultra-high net worth individuals and families, hedge funds, mutual funds, family offices, corporations, foundations and endowments. When he moved back to California, Dennis continued in the same field at RBC Capital. He shifted his focus to center on individuals, families, professionals and small business owners when he moved to Waddell and Reed and ultimately Raymond James, joining Crux Wealth Advisors. Dennis pursued this opportunity to expand his expertise with the wealth management process, where he felt he would be able to make the most significant impact. He brought his knowledge and experiences of working with large institutions to the “little guy.”

Dennis Ortiz-Luis

I was born in the Philippines, but shortly after, my family moved to California when I was two. Having grown up here, it gave me great perspective of the American way of life. Soon after graduating from Cal Poly, I moved to New York City to pursue my Wall Street aspirations. After spending a little over eight years on the East Coast, I moved back to California shortly after the tragedy of Sept 11 and have been in Manhattan Beach ever since.

I am fortunate in that I not only have a fulfilling career, but I also have a fantastic support system in my family. My wife, Lolly, and I have two incredible children, Nikole and Skyler, who keep us active with their busy schedules.

I make it a priority to give back to my community. I am involved in many organizations that are outside of my career to challenge myself in new ways that force me to grow as an individual. I do this through involvement in my neighborhood and numerous charitable organizations. These organizations include those that help families with disabled children and others that help kids set a basis for financial literacy. I am currently active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

My family means the world to me, and they are my inspiration to always do better. We enjoy being active and spending time outdoors together every chance we get. On the weekends, you can often find me hiking, running, or playing golf. Through it all, I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to be surrounded and supported by my most valuable asset, my family.
